Walking Break - Day 5

Coniston to Ambleside
Time to say goodbye to Coniston and walk back to Ambleside via Tarn Hows.  This Tarn must be one of the most attractive places in the Lake District and has views of the Coniston Fells and the Langdales beyond.   After skirting the edge of Tarn Hows the walk then takes you through fields past waterfalls and streams before reaching the hamlet of Skelwith Fold from here it is only a short walk to Ambleside. If you have booked luggage transfers your luggage will be waiting for you to collect from Brathay Lodge.  You are quite welcome to add an extra night on at Brathay Lodge at the end of your walk, in fact we hope you do this. If you are going straight home from Ambleside we hope you have enjoyed our little walking holiday through the central part of the Lake District and it will make you want to return and explore some more.
